Description

Using a variety of visual and written texts, the course takes a critical look at contemporary social issues in Aotearoa New Zealand. We begin by exploring New Zealand’s colonial origins and development, before examining the role of ethnicity, class, gender and sexuality in producing social inequalities and social identities, and we finish by considering New Zealand’s claim to be a "green" country.
