Description

Traces the history of Christianity from its beginning in Roman Palestine to its adoption as the religion of the Roman Empire. Looks at the interrelationship between early Christianity and its social, cultural and intellectual contexts, and traces the development of Christian teachings about Jesus, the Trinity, heresy, martyrdom and asceticism.
