Art and Society in Ancient Rome

Description

A study of the art and architecture of the ancient Romans. Emphasis will be placed on the role of the visual arts as vehicles for the expression of social values and political and imperial ideas. The topics to be studied include architecture, sculpture, painting and the relation of Roman art to Greek art.
