South Asian Photography
Description
Examines the development and reception of photography from the nineteenth to the twenty-first centuries across South Asia, focusing on how photographic practices evolved in response to sociopolitical factors such as class, gender and colonisation.
The course will cover topics such as studio portraits, painted images and fine-art prints looking at work by artists such as Dayanita Singh and Raghu Rai.
