Description

What is this course about?

This is an advanced Chinese course focusing on reading, writing and analytical skills.  We cover a variety of texts on topics such as:

  • Chinese pop culture
  • Chinese food culture
  • Current issues

You will strengthen your language literacy skills in Chinese, as the course is designed to improve your ability to read Chinese texts and to analyse the content. Reading includes a collection of articles from various sources related to the topics. You will also practice writing short essays and passages. At the end of the course, you should be able to read articles with subject matters new to you and compose texts of paragraph length and structure.

 Who this course is designed for?

  • Students who have completed Chinese 202 or 300.
  • Students who possess an intermediate level of reading and writing skills.

Important information

If you do not meet the prerequisites, please complete a Language Ability Declaration and you may be called for an interview and a placement test.
