ENGLISH 323 - Contemporary Poetry
Faculty of Arts
ENGLISH 323
Contemporary Poetry
Description
For upper-level undergraduates who want to study some of the last 40 years of experiments in English-language poetries. Course pack readings will be supplemented with investigations of websites and journals. We’ll discuss relevant cultural themes (literary, political, linguistic, aesthetic, social) and we will learn, and practice what we’re learning, about poetic representation, images, rhythms, diction, shapes, soundings, digitality and performance.
This is a critical skills class as well as an opportunity to learn about new writings.
