GERMAN 360

Advanced German Linguistics

Description

Building on the basic linguistic knowledge gained in the introductory course, i.e., GERMAN 213, this course focuses on three linguistic fields and deepens the understanding of the recent and current linguistic situation in the German speaking area: sociolinguistics, historical linguistics and language acquisition.

From these three angles, we will analyse the past and current linguistic situation in the German speaking area against the backdrop of current linguistic theory concerning these issues.

The course language is German.
