Aim: To develop an analytical ability as a linguist to examine and explain linguistic phenomena in Japanese, within a limited scope.

You will

Study aspects of the Japanese language, such as topicalisation, subjectivity, argument structure, transitivity, passives, benefactive constructions, three way deictic system, ellipsis, speech style and honorific system
Consult primary data to collect target examples, analyse them and discuss findings in oral and written reports, while linking the discussion to the literature
