Course overview

Develops an understanding of how language works at text and discourse level. Students analyse spoken and written texts using simple computer-based or web-based tools in order to reveal lexical, grammatical and discourse patterns in text data. We consider how the insights gained from analysis can be used for language teaching purposes.
