LATIN 200
Latin Language Acquisition: Intermediate
Please note: this is archived course information from 2019 for LATIN 200.
Description
This course follows and builds on LATIN 100 and 101; it can also be useful for students with some high-school Latin who have not yet learnt all the main constructions of Latin grammar. In LATIN 200 you will learn the rest of the major Latin grammatical constructions and develop your Latin vocabulary. You will strengthen your understanding of grammar and of the Latin language, through translation into English and composition in Latin.
You will also read and discuss original texts by Latin authors in prose and poetry. This will help you to acquire vocabulary and develop your understanding of Latin as a language, while learning about Roman culture and history from the Romans themselves.
