Description
An introduction to research methods and practices in linguistics. The course is intended to develop research skills through a combination of lectures and practicum sessions, and will include the proposal, development and completion of a research project.
Course outcomes
A student who successfully completes this course will have the opportunity to:
- Acquire an understanding of how linguistic research is carried out
- Acquire skills in scientific writing and referencing in the field of linguistics
- Gain experience with different types of writing relating to a research project
