Description

MĀORI 744 is an advanced course undertaken in partial fulfilment of the BA (Honours) degree. It is an undertaking that allows students to explore the history of the decline of te reo Māori and the efforts expended in language revival and the revitalisation efforts that have ensued.

The student will be introduced to research that has taken place with regard to revitalisation of te reo and will study the government reports critically to discern their value to te reo revitalisation.

A research essay will be completed addressing one facet of this work and the student will be required to provide a literature review that supports their argument for this essay.
