Description

Themes in contemporary Western philosophy of law, including questions about the nature of legal rules and reasoning and the relationship between law and morality. Major positions in legal theory will be covered, including classic and contemporary natural law and positivist theories, compatibilist theories and legal realism and critical legal studies.
