Description

This course will examine some of the recent literature on scientific modelling, and on the relationship between models and experiments. We will discuss a range of topics such as how models represent the world, the relationship between different kinds of models (eg, mathematical, computational and physical) and the debate about whether or not experiments are superior to models as sources of scientific knowledge. No particular background in science or modelling is required or expected.
