Religion and Crime Fiction

Description

Considers how religious themes, texts, and traditions are used within crime fiction to explore contemporary complex relationships between religion and violence. Students will develop skills to identify religious themes expressed explicitly and implicitly in a range of crime fiction (from the nineteenth century to the present) and to investigate their particular significances within this literary genre.
