Description
Students will undertake a course of directed study on a topic in Theological and Religious Studies subject to the approval of the Academic Head and directed by a member of academic staff with relevant expertise.
This is a valuable opportunity for students to work on a project that is of particular interest to them, with the guidance and supervision of an academic staff member. You will learn the research skills required to create, organise and complete a research project, including forming a sound research question and thesis, conducting literature searches, writing a project proposal and finally, writing a research essay.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- Critically investigate a topic or issue they have chosen in the field of Theological and Religious Studies
- Develop a research proposal relevant for the selected project
- Locate research resources of a range and quality appropriate to an undergraduate research project
- Present findings in a research essay that shows evidence of critical engagement with scholarship on the chosen topic.
