Define the following terms.

Derived: Features that have evolved since the time of the last ancestor.

Ancestral: Features that characterize the last common ancestor.                        

Anagenesis: The change in a single species over time.

Cladogenesis: The transition of one species into one or more others over time.

Brachycephalic: Round high cranial shape.

Dolicocephalic: Long narrow cranial shape.

Mesocephalic: Cranial shape mid-way between brachycephalic and dolicocephalic.
