Workload
This course, as any courses at the University of Auckland, requires an average of ten hours’ work per week.
Students are required to attend the class (2 hours of lecturers and 1 hour of tutorial each week) regularly and to finish assigned readings before each class. They are also anticipated to participate in the class ‘actively’ by preparing his/her class well and participating in class discussions.
Assessment breakdown
Final grade of the course is based on course work (60%) and a final examination (40%), which is compulsory. The course work part of the grade is comprised of Project Proposal & Book/article Review (15%), Class Presentation (15%), and Essay (30%).
Extensions and late work
Policy for applying for extensions and penalties for late submission of work: any coursework requirements that do not meet the designated due date will result 5% reduction of the assigned mark per day unless extension arrangement was made with the coordinator.
