So Chongju
So Chongju, one of Korea's most important contemporary poets, was born in 1915 and began publishing poetry in the late 1930s. Although his poetry is at times hauntingly lyrical and sophisticated it also retains an awareness of common life and folk roots, both in its imagery and use of colloquial language. So Chongju has published many collections of poetry and has been highly awarded in Korea.
